There remains a great, desperate need for American Christians and Christians around the world to come forward. We stay hidden behind the culture, keeping quiet when the truth needs to be spoken and having an indifferent, apathetic attitude to the brokenness of this world.
We are called to be the light and the salt to the world, “for the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed” (Romans 8:19). How can the glory of God be demonstrated when we are paralyzed by our fear, focused on frivolous pursuits, stagnant in our faith, and thinking only about ourselves?
Our anointment as children of God is no small personality flair or stress reliever. It is an assignment that calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow the commandments of God (Matthew 16:24), with an obedience unto death (Philippians 2:8).
So what do we wait for? Well, we wait for the return of Jesus Christ, the redemption of the world, and the glorification of our bodies. But we must tarry with intention, advancing the kingdom of God until Christ puts all enemies under His feet (1 Corinthians 15:25).
There is much to be done, brothers and sisters. So, go forward: fear the LORD, keep His commandments, and seek Him above all things (Ecclesiastes 12:13, Matthew 6:33). Love your neighbors as yourselves (Matthew 22:39), spread the gospel (Matthew 28:19-20), expose the works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11), help the least of the world (Matthew 25:40-45); do all these things and the more God has called you to do, “for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
Let your faith be action today. The LORD God is with you forevermore!
